Petition:ARENA NET Its Not JUST the Warrior Nerf... Read On... *sigh*
So... I go on Holiday for a Week and i come back and i am so sorry to bring this up in what i am guessing is yet ANOTHER thread.
But After the Recent update to guild wars i am upset to say i may be giving up Guild Wars full stop,
After the Warrior Nerf my last straw has been pulled.
I feel as if a Company that has presented me with a product namely Guild Wars has completly changed its game dynamic since release.
This is NOT and i cannot stress enough... this is NOT something that can be or will be Adapted to. So if your answer to the warrior problem is 'Adapt your going to have to they’ve done it now!' then please PLEASE do not comment in this thread.
Namely I would like to have any guild wars players who feel strongly about the Warrior nerf to comment in here and let Arenanet know how you feel in this one thread.
I have heard from a huge number of players already who will now be giving up guild wars as there is no longer any real way to tank.
The knights boots issue, i could make my peace with as it was a bug in the first place... but even that, as a game developer you do not wait that long to fix a bug after it has been made a prominent part of the game for any real warrior.
If i could say one thing it would be that you will never find this in any other online game, as much as i appreciate and enjoy the way guild wars is run, i have lost all patience with the way they resolve issues, and day by day are destroying the game people bought over a year ago.
You should change the game to suit how players have adapted builds, not destroy everything they have done to make themselves as hard and durable and powerful as they possibly can, and because ARENANET feels some desperate need to destroy the original game i will be leaving Guild Wars and i know for a fact that alot of elite warriors will be doing the same just because of ArenaNet’s slap happy way of dealing with a problem in a product.
I think arenanet have created a fantastic game that has so much potential... but i cant sit here and play a game that is designed by people that think instead of complimenting a player for there ability to take on situations in game, they remove any chance of anyone thinking for themselves by stopping the few things that separate a veteran player from a beginner.
I say again please do not moan about Adapting because this issue is something that cannot be resolved in this way, it is a problem with how ARENANET deals with their consumers, and how they seem to deal with that consumer as a adversary and destroy something a consumer has worked so hard on just because they have decided they don’t want it anymore. This is not acceptable!
I feel upset because I love this game and have devoted so many hours to it, there is nothing I enjoy more in the evening than to sit and play Guild Wars… and I hope every player warrior or not thinks about these issues and how they are dealt with, and how suddenly a subscription for another more polished and professional product seems to become a lot more attractive. Even if that product isn’t as good you are guaranteed to be dealt with as a consumer and have your issue dealt with properly, not have your problems dismissed because Arenanet already have my £59.99 for both products, and there is no subscription to lose. As there would be with any other online game.
There is so much more to be said… I hope that some people will fill in the blanks perhaps that I have missed.
Suffice it to say that I am upset with something I have invested a lot of my time and money in has dismissed the way in which I play the game just because it doesn’t fit with how they want the game to be.
The game is NOT about how they want it to be and how THEY want it to look, it’s about the players who have taken the initiative and had the will power to beat the game. Because you are not beating the game at all your trying to beat the limitations they keep enforcing on you.
If the game got harder and the players remained just as powerful I would not have a problem,
After all was that not the point in the Level 20 Cap ANYWAY!
(Its All about skill they said…) *sigh*
And I Implore you to /sign on this thread if you agree it may not make a lot of difference but id rather attempt to use my voice as small as it is to make a difference. rather than sit back and waste it.
To tell you the truth I was ready to quit when they Nerfed AOE but as an ele I learned to adapt and beleive Im a better player for it.
What they did was logical, now I play mostly PVE so the spash from that change was minor for PVPers.
If you look at the changes they have made recently the are some diamonds to be had Illusionary Weapons for instance if you have a +20% weapon you can use IW almost continuously AWSOME
and you did not read the thread correctly, as your reply is so childish...
if the game is as simple as..
they make skill good, use the skill
they make skill bad, you dont use the skill
there is no point atall
i have adapted, and the point is that i should not HAVE to... there are other ways to deal with a product, and i find your reply nothing more than puerile
Edit: I have yet to have any arguement worth responding to as all i seem to be attracting is people that are more obsessed with getting on with it rather than assessing the problems in the first place.

I have two warriors, one for running (especially Drok running), the other for tanking.
I'm not terribly bothered. Warriors should be the most armored class in the game, and they are. I'm a little bummed out about the physical vs. all damage, but it's not like I'm going to run away from an enjoyable game because it's been made a little more challenging.
Bring it on. The game could stand to be a little more challenging anyway.
You are so right OP. The fact that they changed our armor into Paper, and added -50AL vs all element modifiers on them is an outrage, warriors are useless now.
Oh wait...what? all they did was make some modifer changes..well.
That sucks too then...since you know in PvP you always target the warrior first. And in PvE how are you supposed to adapt to taking 3 dmg instead of 0 dmg... God forbid we have to waste skill slots on defense.
Remember that your opinions on how they have changed the game and it's functions may differ from other's opinions on the same matter. I completely disagree with you that you should not have to adapt in an online gameworld where everything is constantly in flux.
In the end though, only you can decide if you are still having fun. I bet you've got your money's worth out of Guild Wars, and if you no longer enjoy yourself I would definitely find another venue for your gaming time.
Personally, ive barely Noticed it as far as my PVE warrior Goes, im Still leaps and bounds better at tanking than any other class, i just need to be more carefull now
as far as PvP Goes, it needs a month or so to settle in before we'll know if its good or bad
I think theres much Drama over Nothing really, Wether you want to hear it or not, change and adapt
Dude, I've been there. For me the defining moment was when I sold all of my obsidian shards, bought ecto with it, went on vacation, came back and found that all FOW armors required obsidian shards (Monk and Necro energy armors didn't require it before I left) and had I bought it just 4 days earlier I would have had my obsidian armor. I was about to quit, but then I realized it was just a game. I feel your frustration, but dude, it is just a game. Roll with it.
Sidenote: I'm very happy about the Knight's boots fix because I bought Knight's armor way back thinking they were gonna fix the bug. Little did I know it would take so figgin long!
The point is not that i am leaving yet another small child trying to make a desperate dig instead of a plausable argument... your doing nothing but prooving my point for me
I was making a valid point politely and have so far had very little of either...
its not a /sign thread its a point about a product i have bought do not treat it as anything else.
I suspect all the warior changes are for Nigthfall. Extending the shout range is in line with the Paragon, and I bet that the Dervish will have ele protection as part of their armor.
Guild Wars is an ever-evolving game. It always will be. Stop and take a breath, look back at all the changes that have been made, and think to yourself...why are they doing this?
Not "why are they doing this to me"
The changes being made today I feel are based on the future of the game and what's to come, not (and no longer) based on the current state of the game, nor its past. You'll kick yourself when the 2 new classes present themselves with weapons that aren't capable of being modified with element damage, or the new skills that might change element damage to physical.
Seriously, think of how ArenaNet is balancing for the future, not the present or past. Also, think of it as a reconditioning period, and get to know what the rest of the game is really about by changing your old pattern of thought, rather than that 'godly' weapon that cost you 100K+30 ecto (which I could get for a few behemoth jaws or kappa shells), and the first 4 buttons on your skill bar that never seem to change, because you won't. No worries, I'm not attacking anyone in particular, just adding my 2-3 cents is all.
There is no real way to tank? Because you take +2 more damage then you did before? So, the warrior path has been all but destroyed because we're taking a minimal amount of extra damage. That's one lame argument to make.
I understand what you're trying to say, about how Anet is constantly updating the game, but I just don't care. Anet created the game, so they can change it however they want. It's up to them what goes into their game and what changes will be made, and the incessant whining from people like you won't make a difference. And to blunt about it, it's probably the most annoying thing to read in forums.
If Anet decides to increase the armor of all monks to 90 AL, then so be it, we adapt and move on. Don't like it? Then leave.
So if your answer to the warrior problem is 'Adapt your going to have to they’ve done it now!' then please PLEASE do not comment in this thread.
If you knew you were gonna get that reply... why bother making the thread? No-one really cares if your shield no longer resists damage from Shatter Enchantment. It was moronic to begin with.
